Cutting Terrorist Trees
While looking into counterterrorism tools, I have found many references to 'tree' diagrams that eerily resemble a scene in the 1966 award-winning film "La Bataille d'Alger". A version of this can be found in an academic paper by a researcher at M.I.T. interested in Order Theory... In fact, a number of books address the use of mathematical methods in counterterrorism. I hope to read some of these monographs soon.
About a month ago I mentioned an article on policy transfers in Central Europe. Today, I have found a similar, more academic article on counterterrorism policies in Kyrgyzstan. Like the former, the latter article focuses on similarities more than variance. The author also places a heavy emphasis on external factors. This said, the theories are well employed and the importance of external factors is rightly highlighted.
